    Abstract:

For the webmasters the battle is never ending, trying to stop the attacks of the spambots trying to infiltrate their websites. For the spambots the goal is varied from posting porn or drug ads to harvesting user information or simply gaining a link to enhance their Google page rank. And just when you thought that you had a good technique to stop the bots, along comes a large pool of very cheap human labor which opens a new front in the never ending battle.

In this session we will define the problems caused by spammers and some of the techniques used to stop them from infiltrating your website, including registration verification, captchas, gotchas, honeypots and blacklists.
