As Stanford looks to the future of teaching, learning, and research, the university is collectively assessing new web and mobile technologies with an eye to finding more efficient and creative ways to manage time, technology and resources. Maintaining a robust web presence for a university is challenging and complex. Among the many challenges are: the costs and benefits of a decentralized approach to technology decisions; the wide range of technologies in use (or disuse); highly complex websites and their variety of applications; the needs and expectations of numerous audiences (both internal and external); and limited resources. This discussion will focus on these challenges, how change can be constructive, and how to make the most of new technologies.
